Our Story In 2003, New Balance partners together with Moretz Sports to manufacturer and distribute New Balance performance socks in the United States and worldwide. Moretz Sports, known as the dominate performance sock manufacturer in the sporting goods trade channel was founded in 1946 by Hugh Moretz and joined in 1972 by today's President and CEO, John Moretz. Today Moretz, like New Balance is committed to manufacturing and distribution in America whenever possible. Whereas we utilize global partners for specific technologies, Moretz continues it's manufacturing base employing over 500 associates in Newton, North Carolina. New Balance performance socks are produced only from the finest performance fibers available in the industry. In fact, each New Balance sock is purchased with a 100% "customer satisfaction guarantee." Every style is designed for a specific benefit to the athlete. New Balance socks enhance athletic comfort by complementing technologies built inside New Balance footwear. Whereas we use overseas partners for specific styling, the majority of New Balance® socks will be produced from our facilities in North Carolina, USA.
